The nomination lists that Natalie Portman has been most frequently included in were for Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Supporting Actress. Several of her performances have gotten her on nomination lists for Actress of the Year and Best Kiss Awards. Well, Natalie Portman never claimed that she made herself all the complicated dancing scenes that we see in the movie and she actually admitted to have had a double, thing which really is a normal one. Still, the scandal was huge at the time of The Oscars, but despite all that, Natalie Portman deserved the title of Best Actress with her Black Swan role. 2010 Started Her Momentum

2010 was a big year for Natalie Portman. Her two movies for this year were Hesher and Black Swan.

Many people aren’t familiar with Hesher. The reason is it actually wasn’t widely released until May of this year. While it probably won’t get the attention of her other movie, it put her in a challenging role and allowed her to share the screen with the just as talented Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Black Swan was Portman’s huge movie of 2010. This movie was directed by Darren Aronofsky, who was also responsible for The Wrestler, Requiem for a Dream and Pi. Natalie starred in this movie alongside Mila Kunis.

This movie was a smashing success at the box office. Although it had a budget of only $13 million, it went on to make over $310 million at the box office!

2011 – Oscar Victory and Three More Movies

Not only was Black Swan a huge hit at the box office, but it lead to her winning her first Oscar on February 27th. Although she had been nominated for best supporting actress in 2005, her lead actress role in Black Swan resulted in her first actual win.

As if this wasn’t enough, Portman is in three more movies this year. Her contribution to No Strings Attached resulted in the film pulling in $147 million. Although her second film Thor had a huge budget of $150 million, it went well into the black by pulling in $411 million.

And while her third movie of the year didn’t do well at the box office, it did give her the chance to work with James Franco and Danny McBride.

Also Getting Ready to Be a Mom

As if everything that’s happened to her over the last two years wasn’t enough, Natalie is also expected to become a mom this year. The father of her child is Benjamin Millepied. She met him while working on Black Swan.

Not only will the two become parents this summer, but they are also engaged. It seems life couldn’t be better for this wonderful actress!

Even though Natalie was not one of the main actors, she was still an intricate part of the storyline. The film is based on a modern day version of an opera by Mozart and is one of the greatest drama stories to unfold in opera. Natalie is an American character that travels to London for work and experience when she meets eyes with the character played by Jude Law. Alice is a stripper trying to get her life back on track and so the big move makes all kinds of difficulties in her life. The too characters get involved after Natalie’s character is run down by a London taxi and the romance starts off in a strange way. Later it becomes more complicated as the other characters get involved in the story and the twists and turns make for some great viewing.

While in Buenos Aires on vacation in 2006, Natalie Portman became fed up with her paparazzi and lost it, showing that every person, no matter how calm, has a limit to his patience. Natalie was leaving an Inn where she had just learned that she had lost a lover when she was accosted by the paparazzi and reporters. Natalie tried to strike a camera out of one of the female reporter’s hands before being escorted into her car. This is an important lesson for everyone to learn: every celebrity, no matter how popular, has moments where he just needs to be left alone.

Since then Natalie has had a strictly hands off approach to the paparazzi. Doing her best to avoid them at all times, she hides from them constantly, whether in the LAX airport or in Israel. When Portman returned to her birthplace in West Jerusalem to study the Hebrew language, she was surprised by how harassed she was by reporters. Despite everything else occurring in the country, Portman was at the top of the reporters’ lists.

Her own directorial debut was at the end of 2008 for the short film Eve which opened at the 65th Venice International Film Festival for their shorts competition. Natalie has won many awards over the years including the 2002 Teen Choice Awards for Star Wars II. She won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for Closer, 2005. 2007 Best Female Performance in Science Fiction for the Constellation Awards for V for Vendetta and also in 2007 also for V for Vendetta was the Saturn Award Best Actress Category.
